In 2015 Pat from Australia was over at the same time Pat from America was so we all met up at the Holiday Inn opposite Lime Street Station in Liverpool. I think this was the first time I’d met Pat but I had heard lots about her especially being a £10 Pom. She told us some stories about when she first arrived in Australia which was fascinating. It was a really great afternoon.
I do also remember my Gran (Agnes Knowles) talking about Pommy Tommy lol.

Aunty Pat, you meant the world to me. You were my lifelong anchor, and I am heartbroken to say goodbye. I will treasure our long conversations, the fun of secretly flattening a bottle of whisky when we were together, and the loving warmth of your hugs. Your no-fuss approach to life taught me that no problem was too big to be solved, and your love for family was endlessly inspiring; something that lives on so clearly in Mark and Lisa and Rachel and Luke. No matter the distance, you shaped who I am, and I will carry you with me always. Raising a glass of whisky to you, here’s to your next chapter.

What a wonderful woman you were. We will always remember your zest for life, your indomitable spirit and fiery sense of humour, forever keeping everyone on their toes. I always loved when we would see you in Sydney and will treasure the memories of the Christmas spent together in Adelaide. Our heartfelt condolences to you Mark and Lisa, and to Luke and Rachel. She was so proud of you all. Bye Aunty Pat, will be thinking of you always.

I have so many fond memories of visiting Pat and Tom when we were growing up, and of Mark and me getting up to plenty of mischief together as young kids.
Pat and Mum (Pam) shared a very special friendship that spanned more than 60 years, but I particularly remember the wonderful travelling companions they became later in life. They shared some fabulous holidays and adventures together, filled with laughter, fun and no doubt a few stories best left between the two of them! I know how much Mum treasured those times and the wonderful memories they made along the way.
I am sure their adventures would have continued for many more years had life not taken Pat down a different path. While dementia gradually changed what was possible, it could never take away the many years of friendship, laughter, travels and memories they had already shared.
I also always enjoyed having a laugh with Pat whenever she was visiting Mum in Melbourne, or when I was in Sydney. I will remember her with great fondness and, most of all, for the wonderful and enduring friend she was to Mum.
Thinking of you all with much love at this very sad time.

Hi Mark and family, like my sister Kerri I have only a few memories of Pat.We can remember gran(Agnes Knowles (shields) talking about pommy Tommy’s turning up at her door unexpectedly and also us meeting Pat when all the family met up in holiday Inn Lime Street. It was a fantastic day as we also had cousins from America over as well.Mum was made up to see Pat again and would have been so upset to here of her passing.There will be some party going on up in heaven with them all together.
